The TDSB Resource Packs were created to help teachers approach the new Ontario Curriculum. They offer resource ideas, unit plans and classroom methodologies. They were designed around innovative learning theory and incorporate the learning of inquiry and design skills. The Packs were intended to accompany sets of materials available for loan from TDSB Resource Centres and thereby support active, hands-on learning. Two types of units can be found: discrete (expectations from one unit are included in the unit), and integrated (expectations from more than one unit, at the same grade level, are included in the unit). While the units are comprehensive in some ways, they were intended to serve as models that teachers could use for a few years and then, using the curriculum design principals found within the units, could modify and adapt the materials and methodologies to the context of their own classroom situations. These units are posted here as a temporary courtesy to OISE/UT faculty and pre-service students. They may be downloaded and used by these individuals in for their own classroom purposes. All materials are copywritten by TDSB. Please do NOT pass on this address or the units on to others. While downloading, remember that these files are large. Please be patient.
